Nova Rock 2019 - Best of
English versionAuch 2019 ging Österreichs größtes Rockfestival auf den Pannonia Fields II rund um Nickelsdorf im Burgenland über die Bühne. Zum ersten mal in der deutschsprachigen Festival Historie traten DIE ÄRZTE und DIE TOTEN HOSEN auf einem Festival auf. Aber nicht nur das, sondern auch viele andere Highlights gab es, wovon ihr hier lesen könnt, aber noch viel mehr Bilder zu sehen bekommt!
Einen Geheimtipp gibt es hier auch noch! Wer es gerne richtig gemütlich hat, verwöhnt werden möchte und in angenehmster Atmosphäre einen Urlaub in Podersdorf am See machen möchten, dem können wir das Parcels Hotel ans Herz legen. Zu den super gemütlichen und klimatisierten Bungalows gibt es noch ein fantastisches Frühstücksbuffet und eine tolle Bewirtung von Klaus, Denise und natürlich ihrem Haus- und Hofhund Ferdinand.

Day 1
Eines der Highlights war definitiv Slipknot. Als Headliner des ersten Tages, spielten sie in neuen Masken und Kostümen ihr aktuelles Album und übertrafen alle Erwartungen. Die Band rund um Frontman Corey Taylor gaben wie immer Vollgas vom ersten Moment an, denn sie versteht es einfach Stimmung zu machen, und das nun schon über so lange Zeit.

Mit den Dropkick Murphys waren die "Boys Back in Town" und machten auf der Blue Stage richtig Stimmung. Aber auch Anthrax und Slayer haben es über die Jahre nicht verlernt. Im Gegenteil, ich war durchaus positiv überrascht und konnte mit Puddle of Mudd auch eine Gruppe auf meiner "Bands, die ich fotografieren möchte" Liste abhaken. Zum Abschluss war dann noch GroßmeisterRobert Smith mit The Cure am Start, und war ein passendes Gegenstück zum Trash-Metal von Slayer auf der anderen Bühne.

Day 3
Tag 3 startete etwas enttäuschend, leider war ich nicht unter den Fotografen die bei den Toten Hosen in den Fotograben durften. Trotzdem gab es auch an diesem Tag auch viele positive Erlebnisse. Die moldawische Nu Metal Band Infected Rain rockte die Red Bull Stage und mit Papa Roach und In Flames konnte ich zwei weitere großartige Bands fotografieren.
Tag 3 startete etwas enttäuschend, leider war ich nicht unter den Fotografen die bei den Toten Hosen in den Fotograben durften. Trotzdem gab es auch an diesem Tag auch viele positive Erlebnisse. Die moldawische Nu Metal Band Infected Rain rockte die Red Bull Stage und mit Papa Roach und In Flames konnte ich zwei weitere großartige Bands fotografieren.

Tag 4 und der somit letzte Tag begann mit der Punkrock-Coverband Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. Vor schillerndem Hintergrund und mit glänzenden Anzügen versuchten sie die Festivalbesucher noch einmal in Schwung zu bekommen.
Mit Ministry, der Band rund um Frontman Al Jourgensen, standen Legenden des Industrial-Metal auf der Blue Stage, denen Rob Zombie, eine weitere Größe, folgte und mit seinen Tanzeinlagen und einer großartiger Show alles gab.
Bei den Ärzten hatte ich dann zwar die Erlaubnis zu fotografieren, allerdings dürfen keine Bilder online veröffentlicht werden.

As always, Austrias biggest Rock-Festival took place once again in June 2019, on Pannonia Fields II in Burgeland, around Nickelsdorf. For the first time in the history of German-speaking festivals, the two bands DIE ÄRZTE and DIE TOTEN HOSEN performed at the same festival. Following, you will be reading about that, and lots of other highlights, but most importantly get to see many pictures of this years fantastic Nova Rock Festival.
I want to add one little insider tip! To those of you, who'd like a comfortable little vacation in Podersdorf am See, with a great atmosphere and lots of spoiling, we can warmly recommend the Parcels Hotel. Added to the cosy, beautiful and air-conditiond bungalows, is a fantastic breakfast buffet, all made possible by the great hosts Klaus, Denise, and of course their little dog Ferdinand.

Even though heat, dust and wind didn't exactly help with the enjoyments of a festival, the "alternative" day 2 also had some great acts up its sleeve.

Quite the contrary, they positively surprised me and with Puddle of Mudd I was able to check one of the "Bands, I want to photograph" off my list. Finally, grandmaster Robert Smith with The Cure performed as the last band of day 2, and was the perfect counterpart to the Trash-Metal of Slayer on the other stage.
