Versengold at WUK

Versengold ist eine 2003, rund um Frontman Malte Hoyer, gegründete Deutsch-Folk-Band aus Bremen. Ihrem Ruf, als exzellente Live-Band, wurden sie auch bei ihrem Konzert im WUK gerecht. Nach ihrem Album "Funkenflug", mit welchem ihnen der Durchbruch gelang, standen die 6 Musiker nun mit ihrem neunten Studio Album "Nordlicht", in Wien auf der Bühne. Ihre sehr treibende, aber auch tanzbare Musik lässt sich grob mit Folkrock beschreiben, lebt aber von Einflüssen aus den verschiedensten Genres wie Metal oder Celtic-Pop und reicht auch bis zu romantischen Balladen.
Als Support war Mr. Irish Bastard mit am Start. Passend zum Stil der Hauptband, nur ein bisschen punkiger, wurde das Publikum mit viel Geige und Tin Whistle eingestimmt.

After they had their breakthrough with the record "Funkenflug", the 6 musicians visited Vienna to rock the stage with their ninth record "Nordlicht". Their very driving, but also danceable music is described best with Folkrock and at the same time it lives on effects of various genres like Metal or Celtic-Pop. Even romantic ballads aren't missing in their repertoire.
As the opener of the night Mr. Irish Bastard rocked the stage. Fitting the style of the main act, just a little more punky, the crowd got heated up with a great dose of the violin and a tin whistle.
